1010 QuartzGuard ® Exterior
Mineral Paint
a.k.a.
Silicate Dispersion Paint (meets German Industrial
Standard DIN 18 363)
QuartzGuard is a
vapour-permeable and water-repellent exterior wall
paint, which comes in white and 10 full-tone
colours. QuartzGuard - white is a tintable base for off-whites
and pastels with up to 30 % coloured paint added.
For stronger colours QuartzGuard is available in ready-
made full-tone colours. QuartzGuard has excellent
hiding capabilities and does not drip.
Adjacent areas of glass and metal should be protected from splatters
to avoid corrosion damage. Unavoidable splatters must be removed with
water immediately.
QuartzGuard
has a matt finish, it is anti-microbial without
fungicides, non-combustible and odourless within hours.

INGREDIENTS:

water, potassium silicate, calcite, chalk, silicate extenders,
earthen & mineral pigments ( iron oxides, aluminum silicate,
chromium (III) oxide, natural earth pigments), kaolin, pure
acrylate dispersion, ammonia solution, polysaccharide, cellulose,
sodium- phosphonate, fatty acid defoamer, siloxane hydrophobing
agent.

PRIMING & CONDITIONING
:

Surfaces with varying or high absorbency must be
conditioned with one coat of #1050 PrimaSil Conditioner-Fixative-Thinner.
Natural sandstone or lime & sand plaster with
loose particles can be stabilized with one coat of # 1050 PrimaSil.
Highly absorbent surfaces and surfaces with much colour variance
in the surface can be primed with a primer made from
# 1010 QuartzGuard, # 1050 PrimaSil and water at a ratio of
1: 1 : 1. |
DRY
TIME:
----------------------------------------------
4 - 6 hrs. first coat
12 hrs. additional coats, dry to touch 2-3 hours
petrification / curing time 20 - 30 days and more |
DISPOSAL:
----------------------------------------------
Let left-over product dry out until the paint is completely
hardened, then discard with regular household garbage. |
SHELF-LIFE:
----------------------------------------------
2 - 3 years, if stored between
+ 5° and + 30° Celsius ( 41° - 85° F
)
Reseal opened container air-tight. |
THINNING & CLEAN
UP:
----------------------------------------------
Product is normally ready to use, but may thicken over
time, if stored quite warm.
For thinning use # 1050 PrimaSil Silicate
Conditioner - Fixative - Thinner as needed.
For clean-up use soap and water |
COVERAGE:

approx. 80 - 90 sqft per ltr. or 300 - 340 sqft
per gallon |
CAUTION:
----------------------------------------------
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Wear protective goggles, when working overhead. Product
is slightly alkaline. ( pH = 8.5-9.0 ) |
